• Program: an eco-cabin (fullfilling the “attefallshus” Swedish law)
  • Location: Prässebo, Sweden
  • Surface: 25 sqm
  • Key features: natural materials, solar power, natural and passive grey water treatment and human waste systems, natural clay plaster to the interior

A compact eco-cabin which maximises living space and functionality in a minimal physical and environmental footprint. The cabin was designed in close collaboration with it’s future owners, to ensure it truly met their needs, wants and wishes. The project is the first phase of a larger project, the sustainable transformation of the extended property including: the transformation of an existing barn into a modern workspace; the careful refurbishment of the existing home on the property; a new sauna cabin nestled amongst the trees, a bright orangerie, as well as an outdoor courtyard and hangout space that links these buildings together.

The interior walls were finished with locally sourced natural clay plaster and linseed oil paint. Organic and tactile, both materials give the interior space a light and earthy feel well suited to the cabins locale and spirit.
