• Two workshops about Education of Architects and Engineers focusing on practice-based and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Collaborative methods of work to brainstorm on how to implement more practice-based and interdisciplinary courses at university
  • Workshop organized by Chalmers Environmental & Civil Engineering dpt., financed and Co-created by Climate-KIC
  • Graphic communication of the event, event planning, workshop video

In October and November 2014, JIG has collaborated with the building technology division of the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Chalmers Univ. of Tech to organise, run and document the two first co-creations workshops about architecture and engineering education at Chalmers University of Technology. The workshops were supported by  Climate-KIC and their flagship program Building Technologies Accelerator, a european organisation engaged in innovation and sustainability for the built environment.

Focusing on practice-based and interdisciplinary learning, the workshops aimed to explore the relevance of such learning methods as well as identifying how such courses could be more commonly implemented at university. The workshops also explored new course design possibilities at Chalmers University of Technology dpt. of Arch and Environmental and Civil Engineering.

JIG really enjoyed working on this project, as co-creation and collaboration are at the core of our work process. We also are tightly connected to the topic: our cooperative has been formed after the success of a practice-based, cross-disciplinary university project.  We hope to continue to create collaborative environments that engage people from different backgrounds and disciplines to collaborate and create innovative solutions, as well as sharing knowledge with one another.
